Along with a strong emphasis on reading, phonics and math our first through sixth grade students learn critical thinking skills through interactive classroom activities. Our goal is to teach the students to integrate core knowledge and apply the foundations of learning to all subjects. Our elementary students have opportunity throughout the year to participate in classes for Bible, music, art, P.E. and computer, as well as weekly chapel. Each class also has many opportunities throughout the year to enjoy field trips to local places of educational interest.
The Bible is the basis of all our education and is the foundation of the ministry of CCA. We primarily use the A Beka Book curriculum and texts through the school. Grades 1-3 use BJPress for Bible, and Grades 4-6 use Positive Action for Christ for Bible. Starting in the 7th grade, students are taught math using Saxon Math. Jr. High Bible is Positive Action for Christ, Grades 9-10 are A Beka Book, and Grades 11-12 uses Worldview by Summit ministries, Christian Leadership by Matt Williams and teacher-supplemented materials dealing with the home & family. Grades 11-12 use Dave Ramsey’s school curriculum for Economics.
